White Bluffs Trail: Visit the Dessert In Washington

If you are ever in the Tri-Cities or Othello area this is a trail is a must! It displays beautiful views of the river and you can catch the most beautiful sunsets! There are a couple White Bluffs trails. There is the North Slope, Reach, and South Slope Trail. Our absolute favorite is the North trail because it has the best views in our opinion. There is a sand dunes area that you can easily climb up on and see the most prettiest views.

I always use the AllTrails app when hiking because it free and most importantly shows you a map of trails and keeps you from ever getting lost. My favorite thing about White Bluffs is that there are multiple trails, breathtaking views, beautiful birds, and fossils. In September, you can hear elk calling across the river. You can see the Handford Vit Plant Project across the river. It can be a little bit of a bumpy ride because you drive a few miles on a gravel road and usually it is very well maintained. You will rarely bump into people here since it is such a large area. This area can also be a very nice backdrop for photoshoots or photography. We did a little shoot on the dunes and had a blast! It can get pretty hot in the summertime so make sure to bring lots of water and some snacks! There is a chevron 20 minutes away in Othello that has the best potato Joe Joes and homemade ranch! We usually stop by there on our way home. There is a boat dock and little park area there as well so be sure to check that out if you have a boat!

We go to this hike many times through out the year and it never disappoints. The water is very clean that the last time we were there we watched two little otters swim around together from above.
